Holiday debuggery

We know there were a few kinks with the holiday promotion. We've been working very hard to get them ironed out. If you have a paid/permanent account, keep on sending those coupons. Here's an update:

  • If you were unable to send out multiple coupons at a time, please perform a hard refresh, and you should be good to go.
  • If you redeemed a coupon to upgrade your account and the balance at checkout was $0 instead of $9.95 or $15, this means your upgrade did not go through (nor were you charged). We've straightened this out, so you can now apply your holiday coupon toward the purchase of an annual paid account.
  • If you tried to redeem a holiday coupon and had trouble using a gift certificate to cover the balance of an annual paid account, we identified the root problem. If this happened to you, you can now use your holiday coupon together with your gift certificate.
  • If the number of holiday coupons you have available suddenly goes up (instead of down), this might be due to recipients declining the coupons, at which point your pool of available coupons will be replenished and, therefore, increase.
  • If you need assistance with holiday coupons or pretty much anything else (well, LiveJournal related), please open a support request and we'll be more than happy to help!

Tweaks

  • There were some initial glitches displaying results on My Guests, but we've worked them out. We hope you'll check out who's been checking you out!
  • Some of you reported formatting issues using the Rich Text Editor (i.e., line breaks were being removed incorrectly). We've implemented a fix! Thanks so much for your patience.

Give a little extra!

We're pleased to report that we've already sold over 100 virtual red ribbons in honor of National AIDS Awareness month. Remember, for each charitable vgift you purchase for $2.99, we'll donate 100 percent of gross proceeds to IAVI.org (the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) to fund the development of an HIV vaccine. Once again, we thank you for your generosity.

Celebrate with holiday vGifts!

Stop by the Virtual Gift Shop and share some holiday magic with your LiveJournal friends.

Hi all!

I went to Chapter 2 to have a hair cut in Jurong Point before getting to school for band practice. I got a $10 off voucher from one of the goodie bags so just use it. I never really found my favourite place to cut hair yet so just anyhow lah...

At the moment, I rank the best to be at Kimage still. They kept quiet and cut hair, that is the best thing I like. They wore uniforms and seem really professional. Compared to chapter 2 who dressed up like ah lien ah beng (may be I am just out of fashion, but still), talking really a lot, from movies to schools to sports to boyfriends to where to have fun. Seriously! Even though they were young and good looking people cutting hair, they were acting like those aunties uncles from the neighbourhood hair salon! So wash, cut, blow, total $28 - $10 for the voucher. Quite cheap lah, it became neighbourhood price already mah, haha!

We had dinner at Bentendo, also ordered a blueberry yoghurt, :P. Then he sent me to school for band practice. Attendance was good this time, and I managed to see the harp (ehh yah) again. I couldn't remember much but band ended really late, about 45 min later. I wonder how my friends go home sia...

I went to the band room next morning. I arrived about 15 min late but they haven't started anything yet. Just like every concert! Haha, we stood around, talked rubbish, then we made our way to Nanyang Auditorium. They brought their own mike, because prof ho say ntu wanna charge them $650 for renting it! NTU so cheat money leh. My friend said that applies to even ntu band! OMG!

We had some rehearsals, then had a short break, too short! I made Hansel outside, he bought me chocolate. =) Then he came also, pretty pretty lilies! He helped me buy oreo which I distributed to everyone I am close to in nie band. We didn't manage to take many pictures also.

pictures )

Concert was pretty screwed up, somemore the most screwed up was cartoon, and AT the place where my solo was. I felt so honour to save the band from breaking down, wahhaha! There were mistakes we never made before, and things we did right while we were never right before. Haha, like exam har? Some members were pretty upset with the way the concert turned out. But for me, as long as it is a concert, I am happy, because it is a happy occasion. There is much more to music than music for a concert. We got to really see beyond the music and realise the fate that bring all of us together, musicians and audience alike, just by a single special occasion. Music is of course important, but there are much more than music here. =)

I got to thank Chun Kiat for coming, with the lilies and oreo. =) Thanks to Chin Yuan also, for coming, and driving us back to hall 9, and your worse-than-doctor's-handwriting Christmas card. Also big thanks to Geck Woon and Jonathan, for coming even if they must arrive late, and the pretty lilies which looked gorgeous while keeping the decorations simple and sweet. Thank you to Hansel who came even while he was having a cold, and that chocolate he bough just for me. Also, thanks to people like Edward who came without informing any of us, haha! Hwee Lee also came, though more for Ian than for me, I was really happy to see her once again. Biggest thanks to Prof ho for without him, we would be too doomed to have a concert. NIESB for the success of this concert, and all the audience for keeping quiet, shouting encore even we were so cui already. Guest players too, like the sax solo guy, and also thanks Mr Wong for much guidance and help, I was really honoured and lucky to have you beside me. Of course, I won't forget all the good lucks people sent me through sms or msn along the way, and everyone else who were involved in this concert one way or another. Thank you all. Really, =).

We had dinner at some coffee place, then went to eat the very nice dessert in Jurong Point! The ugly looking sesame bean curd was really delicious! =) After that we came back, I got really tired and slept for almost 12 hours...

Next entry will be on the ISG, catch up later. =)

Finally, after a near-manic week of revelry, here i am in a dimly-lit cafe in Phuket Town typing and sipping Chai Yenn in absolute silence. I never thought solitude could feel this unsettling. Peculiar, as i had no doubt i would feel agitated on this trip due to personal tendencies (which would be too dangerous to be discussed here). But now it is fitting to say i am on withdrawal. At dinner with the kids in Bangkok choking over cheap Pad Thai, Green Curry and Chang. Being dragged around a tad too willingly by Bren in malls and markets, complete with a faux-Thai accent, and armed with our "wholesale", "best price" jokes that can still induce laughter. Packing 7 on a Tuk-tuk and refusing to budge one bit if the driver wanted to charge anything more than what we presumed to be normal. Phuket proved to be slightly trickier now that my favourite person has come into the picture, but i learned to look at the endless clouds instead whenever the said person is near (i hope you get that by favourite, i really mean quite the contrary).

Shortly after, i realised handballing under the glorious sun and sand, the siestas on the beach chairs were sufficient to rid my mind of all negativity. One afternoon, we were lured onto a yacht and spent hours jumping into water, cloud-watching and talking under the influence of alcohol. It was not magical, but there is nothing to dislike about a day like that. As i roam the sleepy streets of Phuket Downtown, it suddenly struck me how much i would miss these mindless days, and how i desperately want to cling on to people lest they disappear once the time is up. It was surprising how hard it was to send them off this morning. I absentmindedly helped with the luggage in my sleepy stupor. As i turned to walk back into the hotel lobby, someone asked me for a hug, and so i did my best to sheepishly give them without appearing too dumb. Admittedly, despite my reluctance to say it, i love hugs especially if i know the other party means it too. I don't quite know how to put the memories tied to this trip coherently. It surely wasn't one of ultimate decadence because we just weren't European enough. But heck, it was just right in most respects. Ceremoniously, our bracelets, leather straps, and watches would serve to remind me of this, and so much more. I guess the it would be very difficult to top it now, no matter how wonderful the next stop is. I could not ask for more, could i?

Hi all!

Yesterday, I woke up early and play pet society, so lame lah, haha. After playing a while I felt tired again, then I went back to bed, lol! I set alarm to wake up at 2pm, then I will come out and meet the others for buffet at 莆田.

To my surprise I realised I left my Harold's pouch at 7/11 yesterday! OMG!! But luckily the lady there kept it for me. REALLY LUCKY CAN? He asked me to check the contents inside... 1 matric card, 1 hall card, 1 cash card and 1 lip balm. Lol. But I told him the most expensive thing is the pouch actually.

After getting my precious pouch back, we met the rest for the buffet. We walked past BHG and I saw a quite nice bag going at half price. I wanted to buy but I called home first. Mummy said she will give me the Esprit bag which she is not carrying anymore. =)

So the buffet started. Well it was nothing much really. I am not someone who loves chinese food, because chinese food contain a lot of vegetables, spring onions, and all kinds of spicies. So I ended up having lots of appetisers instead of anything else. They taste great, really. I had lots of watermelon too, haha!

I got to say it is the cheapest buffet ever, only $13 per person after +++. 3pm to 5pm, made me full enough to last me through the night till this morning. After eating, we went to throw basketball in arcade. We were obviously quite rusty playing that. After playing, we went home.

He finally bought his $7.90 slippers, haha! We watched ALADDIN TRILOGY at home. We realised the Aladdin he bought was not the Disney one, so not so nice lah. The story also slightly different. The 2nd movie "Aladdin and the return of Jafar" was quite nice too. The third movie "Aladdin and the King of Theives" was quite boring though. Later on I managed to find an online streaming for the first movie, we shall watch it soon! The first movie is always the nicest. The rest may not be nice.

This morning, I went for tpjc volleyball training. SO FUN!! =D Today rain, so train INDOOR!! =D Irritating guys are not around, cute boys are there, sweet girls not many, but still there. Haha, it is the people that make the game even better. Hai, I wanna give up learning to serve upper hand liao lah, unless got people stand beside me to teach me. Seriously man! I think my lower hand serve is quite fierce, lol. Suky is strong strong.

After training I made my way to Tampines mall wanting to my Christmas presents for him. I managed to take the same bus as the boys and they were on their way to have pizza hut for lunch. So sweet of them to ask me if I want to join them! =D

Nothing else le, going to rot at home nothing to do, I wonder how am I going to spend the rest of today alone...

Beauty Review : L'Oreal De-maq expert

  • Dec. 17th, 2009 at 5:32 PM

Remember my post about searching for a suitable makeup remover wipes for my trip to the States last year? This L'Oreal De-maq was among the 'shortlisted' ones that I wanna try but I ended up liking the Biore Wipes and stuck with that for the trip. Well, since it was only going for S$10 during the recent L'Oreal Expo Sale, my elder sister and myself decided to pick up 2 packs.

Effective or? )

seriously?!

Not kidding when I say UO has the most brilliant gadgets ever. I love this, alot. But, the thought of spending $80 on this is a bit erhhhhh. If only I managed to convince somebody to get me this for my birthday previously!

This week, is KA-CHING week. I see dollar signs everywhere. EVERYWHERE. It was just visual torture. But right now, there's audio torture as well. It's really really bad. I need to work and earn money so that my heart will stop beating so hard and fast. Okay, I do still want my heart beating.

Did I make sense there?!

free ball...

  • Dec. 15th, 2009 at 11:11 PM

Hi all!

This morning I went to tpjc to play volleyball. SO FUN! Well got one part quite grrr lah. I was jumping to spike the ball when somebody shouted free ball, SO INSULTING LAH. GRRRR. I hate guys who look down on girls! They are not very zai also leh. Both teams were all guys, except I am the only girl, and my team only lose 24-26!! Opponent lousy lah, got people like me to aim also never take advantage, still there shout free ball when I spike. GRRRRRR.....!!!

I shall not forget to mention it was a good ball!!!

Oh yay anyway playing volleyball is still fun even though the people like shit, haha. I was talking to this boy when I was waiting for my turn to play:

boy: you got bf in jc?
me: nope
boy: you bluff me! you blink your eye!
me: really don't have lah! if everyone blink eye means lying, lawyers out of job liao!
boy: then you pri school got bf?
me: WHAT?!
boy: sorry sorry... I mean secondary school you got bf?
me: don't have also...
boy: unbelievable! Do you have 1 now?
me: yah...
boy: how long already?
me: 2 years coming soon.
boy: oh wow! hold hands already?
me: ?!?!?!? of course!

I wonder if he was trying to be funny or he was really innocent, wahahha! He was so cute lah. 17 years old jc1 boy, hahaha. Ok lah, so not everyone was shit just now, there were fun loving people of course. The girls were sweet too. After playing, I went home to bathe and lunch, then came out again.

We went to watch PRINCESS AND THE FROG. OMG SOOOO NICE! Just like every over Disney princess classic movies. The lovely singing, the beautiful drawings, the dancing formations by those cute animals were great. The movie was so nice and touching, I cried!!!

After the movie we went to Orchard Central, down there got a cafe called "Fruit Paradise". They sell really pretty looking fruit tarts! Expensive of course, one piece for about $7.80. We ordered 1 piece to share, plus blend tea (comes with teapot and tea cups) which cost $4. The teapot is refillable with hot water. It was a very relaxing and nice experience! I love it. The tart was delicious too! Fattening though, all those cream! We ordered banana chocolate flavour.

After sitting there and enjoying "nothingness" for a while, we took the train home. He bought me a cube cube! I am so happy. =D

Wow its late! I got to sleep soon, good night all!

Skin Food has several tub masks and among the variety of tub masks, I recently bought the Cucumber Soothing Mask Wash Off from Ling.
